We partnered with Mark DeVries and Kenda Dean to create a website that engages their audience and invites them to partner with them in their effort to serve Christ through sustainable social enterprises.
It all starts with the website.
In the Spring of 2014, Mark DeVries and Kenda Dean outgrew their ministry’s old Wix website and asked the Smart Church Project to help them update their web presence with a new, modern, and customizable replacement. We worked alongside their preferred designer to craft a brand new website that reflects the bold and forward thinking mission of their ministry.
The Ministry Incubators website features bold lines and stark color contrasts that aesthetically exemplifies the cutting edge nature of their ministry. The website features an exhaustive list of upcoming Hatchathon events, Advisors, Testimonies, and most importantly, ways to to get involved.
Crafting the Strategic Plan.
After creating Ministry Incubators’ website, we worked with them to craft a “Strategic Plan.” The Strategic Plan for every Digital Missioning and Web Design client starts with your core mission. In Ministry Incubators case, their core mission was to reach out to entrepreneurial Christians who are seeking to use their gifts as part of their unique vocational ministry.
For Ministry Incubators, the strategic plan included a rigorous blogging schedule, the strategic use of Facebook and Twitter to drive user engagement, and regular analysis of site usage to ensure they were regularly engaging new users.
Digital Missioning: Following the Strategic Plan (and more).
Your strategic plan becomes the user manual for your online presence and any Smart Church Project client or their team can utilize the recommendations to create a vibrant, sustainable online presence. Our experience working with ministries, however, showed that few had the time or technical interest to regularly implement the strategic plan recommendations. Digital Missioning is an additional service available to all Smart Church Project clients where a dedicated digital missioner is assigned to your ministry (think of them like a new member of your ministry team who is an expert in web technology and available as often as you need). This digital missioner becomes responsible for implementing the strategic plan, reminding you and your team to submit blog posts, updating website pages and tweaking website design or functionality as needed.
Digital Missioning provides a long term, sustainable mechanism to ensure that you not only utilize your new website but that it constantly evolves to meet your ministry’s needs. Since the launch of Ministry Incubators’ website, their digital missioner has created a brand new page highlighting professional advisers, made homepage design tweaks, and implemented adaptive call to action popups for new website visitors.
The fruits of digital missioning and active engagement of the strategic plan are clear. In just one year, Ministry Incubators saw their average monthly website visitors increase by over 300% and on just one day they saw over 1,600 people on their website!
Since designing your website doesn’t ensure that it meets your ministry’s core goals, Smart Church Project’s Digital Missioning creates the bridge from your strategic plan to actual results. Is it time for your ministry to take the next step from intention to action?
