Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ is an ongoing partner. We are proud to serve PTS as an independent development agency coordinating with the onsite technology and design teams on valuable departmental website design and development projects. Each assignment has been different and every new project has brought its own share of rewarding challenges.
Perspectivas Online Journal
For our latest project with PTS, we were incredibly pleased to help design and build the Perspectivas Online journal platform on behalf of the Hispanic Theological Initiative (an ecumenical, multi-ethnic, and multi-denominational, partnership dedicated to increasing the number of Latina/o students and faculty in theological education and, by doing so, better equip US institutions to serve the growing Hispanic population).
Perspectivas Online is a bi-lingual journal (in both English and Spanish) that presents strong academic engagement with a variety of topics that affect the Latina/o community.
We were proud to build a platform for the Perspectivas team to publish their journal in both HTML (text readable by a web browser) and pdf format with a variety of subscription options. The website needed to include a full shopping cart, industry standard encryption, institutional access via IP authentication, support for the Seminary’s rigorous liability policies, a fully integrated payment processor, and customized payment labeling for the Seminary’s business office.
The website design needed to reflect the contemporary issues the scholars were dealing with in their diverse contexts. As a result, the design features a contemporary design with stark contrast between the white background and brightly colored panels across a variety of its pages.
The homepage dynamically updates with new issues, replacing every issue with both English and Spanish versions and all of its applicable sections. This kind of automation makes it possible for the Perspectivas team to focus on its core mission of scholarly relationships and research instead of getting burdened by unnecessary technical hurdles.
Whether you need a full e-commerce store with multi-lingual support, or simply a place to distribute your free content, we have the experience and skills to help you succeed. Contact us today with your biggest idea, and we will equip you to use technology to turn it into reality.
Office of Student Counseling
Serving the students, staff, and faculty at Princeton Seminary with high quality counseling and wellness services is no simple task, and we were honored to work alongside the Office of Student Counseling to build a new website that makes it easy for them to deliver students life-saving information in crisis situations, daily inspiration, and access to their wide variety of wellness materials.
This project began with a fundamental rethinking of what core functions the Office of Student Counseling needed to highlight on its homepage. Intentionally simple, the bright colors and limited menu options create an easily navigable website that is effective in connecting students with the materials that are most valuable to them when they need them.
The scope of the site was, once again, vast. The department needed to engage visitors with everything from a full fledged resource library with hundreds of resources to their simple PDF monthly newsletter. It was critical to present this wide variety of content with a bright and airy design, communicating ease and hospitality to students caught in the midst of difficult transitions.
The department has an incredibly active event schedule, featuring everything from group therapy, to spiritual direction, to personal wellness lectures. All of these events needed to be easy to find and easy for the department to manage. In response, we implemented an events system that automatically updates their master calendar in addition to the homepage with their next upcoming events.
Of course, the core mission of the counseling website is to provide clear and effective channels for students to find adequate help in their time of need. Our team was thrilled to assist the department in using cutting edge technological tools to assist real human connections. We would love to do the same for you.
Church History Department
The Princeton Theological Seminary history department website needed to reflect the diversity of its students and faculty and the wide breadth of their emphasis of study. In order to achieve this, we partnered with the department to create an interactive slider that showcases all ten faculty members, their published works, and even the key figures in their areas of study.
Each member of the distinguished faculty received a clean and professional profile page that highlights the body of their extensive research, published works, and their relevant contact information.
With the department’s active lecture series and regular scholarly conferences, we implemented an event system that makes it easy for the department to highlight upcoming activities. In addition, we created a streamlined profile page for current students and alumni, nested enrollment information pages, and an index of global partners.
The history department website presents the diverse areas of study and technical expertise of its world class faculty and students by combining compelling graphics and a striking design to help users find and engage the vast amounts of content contained throughout the site. If your organization has the same need to engage others with significantly diverse ministries or resources, we would love to help.
